On the 31 July, all older versions of the Sage Pay Protocol FORM versions 2.20, 2.21, 2.22 and 2.23 will be discontinued. This means that if your website is currently running any of these versions on the 31st July your account will be suspended and no transactions will be able to be processed.

1. “Why is the Sage Pay Protocol Changing?”
Like many other Payment Gateway providers, Sage Pay, is continually working to improve it’s security and reduce all chances of online fraud. The new V3 update will ensure that security is kept as tight as possible.
2. “What is a Protocol?”
A protocol is effectively a set of rules which allows various systems to communicate effectively with each other. Each time a customer places an order on your website the Sage Pay protocol with ensure that key payment information such as bank details, name, email address etc are all transferred securely.
3. “What Protocol Does My Website Use?”
Over the next few days Sage Pay will be sending out emails to all of the website which are currently running outdated versions.
